Periwinkle (Creeping myrtle, Vinca minor)
Plant type: Flowering ornamental perennial ground covering.
Flowers / fruits / cones / seeds / nuts: This ground covering flowers heavily in early spring with splashes of color throughout the summer and fall.
Attracts: Birds, bees, pollinators
Reproduction / propagation : sowing, cuttings, layering, division
Growth pattern: Great for someone looking to cover a large area with low maintenance greenery. Beware, this plant will spill over planters, creep across the ground, and is really only recommended for bedded areas that are in highly controlled environments. For conservation sake, avoid using on landscapes that border protected areas or land that is not thoroughly managed.
Size: 4-10 inches, mature plants grow 8-12 inches tall but spread horizontally
Plants are fully rooted and available for fulfillment upon ordering. Photos show parent plant fully spread out across ground covering, which will happen after a few years. Item is fully rooted. Some harvests will be smaller and require time to grow full size. Please allow 1-2 weeks for fulfillment.
Care: Very little care needed. Trim borders to prevent overgrowth and to stop plant from becoming invasive if being planted near an unmanaged parcel of land.
